My name is Harvey Jones, and I’m a former conservation biologist specialising in sustainability services marketing, business development and communications.

    I started my career in Chile as a honeybee ecologist and physics teacher. I played in a band. Minor celebrity playing major chords.

    Since moving to the UK over ten years ago, I’ve held marketing communications roles across the private, public and third sectors.

    I started in marketing agencies and have held leadership roles across large, matrixed organisations, NGOs and professional services consultancies.

  • As a leader at consultancies, Elliott Wood and GHD, I’ve built marcomms functions from the ground up.

    Working across engineering, climate, energy and socio-economic services, I specialise in integrated marketing across events, thought leadership, press and partnerships.

  • My background in scientific research helps me understand what your audiences pain points and needs.

    I’ve worked in the sustainability space for over a decade so I understand your stakeholders’ challenges and what they are looking for.

    I work across digital, press and events and I’ve used my experience to position NGOs, SMEs and large corporations as sustainability leaders.

  • I have my finger on global sustainability trends and advocacy issues. I learned the ropes at sustainability communications agencies working with companies like PepsiCo, Mars and JetBlue.

    Then I led the marketing communications team at the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) — the world’s largest network tackling sustainability issues in the built environment.

    Recently, I've led multi-stakeholder content marketing and event campaigns on the ground, in the Blue Zone, at COP26 and COP27.

    At COP26, I served as the communications lead for the #BuildingToCOP26 Coalition.

    I worked closely with the UN High Level Climate Champions, the UK Government, and several businesses and NGOs to deliver the first Cities, Regions and Built Environment Day at COP26 since COP21 in Paris.

  • Focusing on wildlife conservation, I completed my MSc with distinction at the Universidad de Católica de Chile in Natural Resource Management.

    I earned my BA in Biology and Minor in Philosophy at Transylvania University (USA).

    I speak English, Japanese and Spanish fluently. I stay busy playing guitar and teaching my daughters Japanese.
